Welsh Livery Company to visit Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum at Caernarfon.

Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum at Caernarfon

Many Liverymen will have strong personal or family connections with the historic regiment of the Royal Welch Fusiliers which had its principal recruiting ground in North Wales. The Regimental Museum located inside Caernarfon Castle provides a fascinating insight into the long and illustrious history of this famous regiment.

The Trustees of the Museum have very generously offered to host a visit by the Livery Company to the Museum and to give a talk about the Regiment and its battle honours. Liverymen will also be given a conducted tour around the ancient castle. The Custodian of the Castle has very kindly agreed that Liverymen attending the event will be granted free access to the Castle. We are very grateful to Lieutenant General Riley CB DSO, the Chairman of the Museum Trust for agreeing to the visit and also to Colonel John Williams MC DL who will host us and talk about the Regiment.

The occasion will provide a wonderful opportunity for Liverymen and their guests to learn about the role of the Regiment in many historical campaigns including service in China during the Boxer Rebellion and in South Africa during the Boer War as well as very many others.
